UPDATE 15 - We Have a Construction Loan
Hey folks. October is turning into get-this-blog-going-again month. Here is another exciting update that I shared on a Sunday morning in September that has big repercussions for our project.
God has provided us with a construction loan! The loan will come through Christian Investors Financial (CIF). CIF is an organization that provides faith-based financial solutions that serve Kingdom expansion. They provide loans to churches like ours so we can buy/renovate buildings, pay off the loan, and focus on the work of ministry.
God’s hand has been at work in a funny way connecting us to CIF. Larry Walker went to our denomination’s General Assembly in Chattanooga, TN this past summer praying that God would connect him with an organization to help with funding/financing our building for the renovations work. Larry literally walked the exhibitors hall for a couple of days, praying that God would connect him with the right person. And God did! After much searching, Larry talked to a gentleman at the CIF table.
CIF structured the financing in a way that will greatly serve our church. They usually give out 25-year loans, but, on average, churches have paid back their loans in full within 12 years. In no small part, this is because of how CIF loans work: there are no pre-payment penalties, they re-amortize loans to incentivize early principal payments, and they have ceilings in place to prevent churches from borrowing an amount that prevent churches from paying more than 25% of their annual budget towards the loan. They also have competitive interest rates!
God putting this piece in place will allow us to begin renovations very soon. More updates coming ahead!
