UPDATE 32 - 12 Weeks

Hey everyone!

This week, I have been spending a lot of time planning out the many things that will change as Liberti moves to 2531 E Lehigh Ave. I have had a lot to think about! Thank you to those who have been praying for me.

I have one small question for your prayer and reflection: how could God be inviting you to serve as we make this big move? Could you ask him?

This move will require a lot of all of us. Just moving itself will be a herculean effort! But I also expect there will be much work for us to do as we get situated in the new building in the year ahead. All the corners of our church’s life will be impacted by this move– worship, home meetings, kids ministry, prayer, outreach.

For some of us, God’s answer could be serving how we are already serving…just more! For example, I’ll have to preach twice when we move to two services. For others, this season could be an opportunity to start serving in a new way, or to come back to serving a way you used to in the past. And for some who are supporting our church from far away, the answer is to consistently bring Liberti before God’s throne in prayer. Every single one of our efforts will be important. We are all individually members of Christ’s body (1 Corinthians 12:27).

As we ask God how he is inviting us to serve, let’s remember that he invites us to serve to bless us, not kill us or burn us out. In his service is perfect freedom; in his service there is fullness of joy. Our service is not ultimately for the church, or for a physical building, or for Stephen, but for Christ himself. Our Lord came not to be served but to serve, and now it is our privilege to serve him. Father, by your Spirit help us to serve like Christ served us! Show us what service will mean for each of us.
