CHURCH

Our Sunday morning worship services rely heavily on the help of our hardworking volunteers. Each week we need the help of volunteers to greet folks, set up the space, operate the lyrics powerpoint, and serve in nursery. If you’d like to assist us in any of these roles, please email Stephen Wood at swood@liberti.org

We require all who serve in children’s ministry to go through a background checks process. If you’d like more info on what documents are necessary please email Alyssa Wood at alyssaw@liberti.org.

CITY

Visitation
Visit members and friends of church members wherever they may be to encourage them. (Hospital, mental health facilities, prisons, the streets, etc.) – contact the Liberti East Deacons.

“New Day” Women’s Drop-In Center
New Day is an organization that serves women who are trapped in prostitution and sex trafficking. They are regularly in need of volunteers to sign up for evening hours at their center near Kensington and Lehigh Avenues. Several volunteers from liberti serve monthly or more frequently. If you are interested in getting involved, contact Adriel RuffMore info here.

Foster Care Support
We are always looking for ways to support our local foster care agency (APM). Whether you are interested in being a foster parent yourself, or just looking to support the organization, please contact AnnMarie Schultz. One ongoing need is for more “care bags” — these are bags of items to comfort each child entering the foster care system during a time of stressful transition. Please contact AnnMarie to find out about ongoing needs.

Meals Outreaches
Liberti has outreaches throughout the year that brings food to people in need. The largest meal event is done every Easter as we deliver 4,000 meals in celebration of the resurrection

Emergency Preparedness and Response Team
Last Sunday Anthony Buller explained how Liberti can be ready to serve the congregation and community after emergencies (fires, natural disasters, etc.), but we need interested volunteers to join the effort.  If you’d like to learn more and/or have a voice in developing our emergency preparedness strategy, please email john@liberti.org.

WORLD

The Liberti International Ministry Team seeks to support our partners working to proclaim the Gospel to other people groups, both internationally and domestically, by partnering with them in prayer, accountability and giving.

The Liberti International Ministry Team seeks to support our partners working to proclaim the Gospel to other people groups, both internationally and domestically, by partnering with them in prayer, accountability and giving.

The Liberti Churches are not simply concerned with compassion and care here in Philadelphia. We believe that the joy and peace of Christ is good news for all people. We believe that we are called to partner with churches overseas for our mutual encouragement and help in growing as followers of Jesus Christ. Our priorities for international partnerships include:

Being involved at the invitation of local peoples
Church planting in underserved parts of the world
Serving international students who currently study in Philadelphia (the “domestic” aspect of our above mission statement)

Current Liberti Church River Wards partnerships include:

  • Church & Community Development in South Sudan, with Water is Basic.

  • Working with international students on area university campuses and partnering with international student ministries. Contact Elizabeth Kuhn Spiegler at elizabeth.spiegler@intervarsity.org.

  • Members of Liberti interested in learning more should contact Elizabeth Kuhn Spiegler (elizabeth.spiegler@intervarsity.org) to find out about the next team meeting.

  • Serving local refugees. If you’re interested in volunteering to serve local refugees email domanskifilm@gmail.com.
